Tear is a Seventh Fonist, one who knows fonic hyms and uses the seventh fonon, sound.
The seventh fonon arose from somewhat unnatural origins. Originally there were six elements made up
of particles of sound called fonons. In Yulia's age, the energy produced by combing fonons
with world memory particles was excelerated and harnessed by passing it through the fon belt that circles the planet.
In doing so, the Planet Storm was created, which had the added result of mutating the combination of particles into
a new element: the seventh fonon.
In the world, there aren't many Seventh Fonists. Those who are Seventh Fonists fall into two categories: Scorers and healers.
Scorers, like Ion, are those who can read the Score. Tear herself would be a healer, as would Natalia, both being able to cast
protective and regenerative spells. Only those born with the ability can use seventh fonons; as what happened
with Jade, tragedy will always occur for non-Seventh Fonists who try to use seventh fonons.
A hyperresonance is caused when two seventh fonons react. It's extremely powerful, and could be used as a weapon. Certain
conditions need to be met, including the presence of two Seventh Fonists, for this power to be created.
Van: It can destroy and reform any matter.
Only two known people can cause a hyperresonance on their own: Luke and Asch.
Unlike other Seventh Fonists, who are limited to using fonic artes, Tear is able to use the power behind Yulia's seven
hymns. This is surely what makes her a Melodist. Tear sings the hymns aloud in battle, but must concentrate on the meaning
and power behind the hymns in order to use them properly. Otherwise, the hymns are like any other songs: beautiful,
but ultimately powerless.
